“With the present political situation, we understand that both the teachers and the nurses have gone on strike but our plans haven’t changed and we will still continue with the Hibiscus on the 17th.”
Bhika says they want the students to enjoy the Hibiscus Festival as they have a two day pre-Hibiscus programme for school children.
Bhika is also promising that this hibiscus Festival will be bigger and better.
“We will be having a Hibiscus Village with booths which will be all covered so that it will be best for the patrons coming to the ground, and we will have better entertainment and also the food facilities this year will be much much different that the past years."
"This will be one of the biggest events ever."
Bhika says estimated cost of the Hibiscus Event is about $400,000.
The Hibiscus Festival starts on August 17th to the 24th with 60 contestants vying for the Princess Hibiscus, Miss Hibiscus, Lady Hibiscus and king Hibiscus crowns.
